Connect with Community is a subcommittee of the Latah County Democrats. Our goal is to improve and build relationships throughout Latah County but more specifically with our rural communities. As such, we publish a monthly newsletter highlighting local events and organizations.
For Democrats, voting in Idaho can feel frustrating and, at times, futile. Year after year we watch our neighbors cast their ballots for conservative politicians in local, state, and national races. Our electoral votes routinely benefit the Republican candidates, and Idaho remains stubbornly red without even a hint of magenta. It’s easy to feel like the only Democrat in school, church, and community - a single blue dot in a field of red. Read more about “Connecting the Blue Dots.”
If you live in a rural area, we especially want to hear from you! What would you share about your community? Please contact Jana Argersinger at argerj@gmail.com, Richard Corey at rjcorey@moscow.com, or Heather Stout at heathers.stout@gmail.com.

"Showing up is not all of life
—but it counts for a lot."
~Hillary Clinton
Over and over we hear from our rural partners that the best way to reach out is by showing up at community events. A fiddle fest here, a craft show there, it all adds up. And not just during election cycles.
Showing up is a simple and effective way for Democrats to get involved. Showing up demonstrates support for our neighbors and acknowledges their distinctive contributions to Latah County. Best of all, showing up is fun. Here are some opportunities to show up.
